AIRCRAFT SAFETY

Improving Your Safety

A safe flight department extends well beyond yearly training in a simulator. The current generation of corporate aircraft is very reliable. Statistics show that most accidents are caused by a combination of human factors rather than equipment failures. This section of our site is dedicated to addressing those human factors and helping improve the safety of your operation.

The current buzz term in aviation safety is "Safety Management System", which is a formal program used to identify and solve any safety gaps within an operation. Many flight departments are implementing the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) which is an attempt to set a safety culture standard that is adoptable to any size organization. Some countries are now requiring IS-BAO; we expect insurance companies to be asking about your IS-BAO status in the next few years.

Please feel free to browse our safety blog and to take our quick safety quiz which will help you assess the safety level of your operation.
